TAB Industries introduced dual control boxes on its automated TAB Wrapper Tornado/Perfect Storm wrapping systems. The optional dual control boxes are set on both sides of the machine to allow safe, quick access when operating in manual mode without requiring movement around the length of the system’s built-in conveyors. The dual control box option speeds and eases film roll changes while also offering extra configuration flexibility, allowing the system to fit neatly into existing packaging and shipping processes.

Pipe cutting system tackles wide range of sizes
ESAB has developed a SmartPipe system for automated plasma or oxy-fuel cutting of pipe alongside a table for cutting flat plate. The SmartPipe standard line covers pipe in diameters from 2 to 12 inches, lengths up to 20 feet and weights up to 2,200 pounds. SmartPipe HD (heavy duty) can handle diameters up to 10 feet and lengths up to 60 feet. The system consists of a pipe turning unit with a manually adjustable chuck and a CNC-controlled turning axis, two or more adjustable-position pipe supports and a support track.

Aluminum Powder Made for AM Applications
Constellium SE has launched Aheadd, a line of high-performance aluminum powders that exceed industry standards for additive manufacturing productivity and component properties. The powders are designed and tailored based on customer needs for a wide range of applications including aerospace, motorsports and defense. Aheadd powders provide thermal stability, allowing replacement of titanium in select applications to reduce weight and cost. Constellium has partnered with Poly-Shape, which has long experience in metal additive manufacturing, to develop and produce components based on the new Constellium powders.
